The urban development company sogent is looking for a buyer to breathe new life into the protected building, known as the 'Berg van Barmhartigheid'. The old city archive, located in Abrahamstraat in Prinsenhof, is in poor condition and urgently requires restoration and renovation works.
Bids can be submitted from October 2nd until January 26th, 2027. The historic baroque building dates back to 1621 and is a protected monument. In addition to the main building, the site also includes an intendant's residence, an inner courtyard, and a rear shed.
Sogent is open to various uses, such as offices, care functions, community facilities, hospitality, retail businesses, or housing, provided they respect the heritage values and the neighborhood's capacity. The buildings have been largely vacant for several years, with temporary use by socio-cultural associations.
The sale will be conducted via sealed bid with a starting price of 2 million euros. Interested parties can request a site visit and submit a bid between October 2nd and January 26th, 2027. More information is available at www.sogent.be.
