Swimwise's mobile swimming pool has been in the municipality of Rumst since September and will be set up at different locations. After five weeks at a location near the schools, the pool will move to the next spot in the municipality. Short transition periods are planned between the different locations.
The locations and periods are as follows: Reet centrum (Eikenlaar and Wingerd Reet) from September 14, 2026, to October 16, 2026 (already took place); Plein Rozenlaan (Sint-Jozefschool) from October 21, 2026, to December 2, 2026; Rumst centrum (Sleutelhof and Ter Doelhagen) from December 7, 2026, to January 22, 2027; Terhagen (Wingerd Terhagen + toddlers Ter Doelhagen Terhagen) from January 27, 2027, to March 9, 2027; and Vosberg (Vosbergschool) from March 15, 2027, to April 30, 2027.
Schools decide independently which classes participate and when. The swimming lessons are conducted in small groups of a maximum of eight children and are supervised by a professional swimming instructor from Swimwise.
Outside of school hours, the mobile pool is also available for group lessons or private lessons.
Volunteers are essential for a safe and smooth operation. Enthusiastic helpers are sought at each location to guide children to and from the SwimCube. Additionally, a supervisor with a valid first aid certificate is required during each swimming lesson. Those without a first aid certificate can follow a training course through the municipality. Interested volunteers for the school swimming lessons can report via the school.
