This approval, made during the council meeting on October 20, 2026, marks the start of preparations for the new connection. Earlier, on June 30, 2026, the 'Eikhof' building line plan was definitively adopted, regulating the modification of existing building lines and establishing a new one for the connection between Eikhof and the municipal park.
The works involve the section between De Wilg primary school and the properties of Thuisrand. A strategic land swap with the school will facilitate this, compensating the school with an adjacent piece of public land to be added to their playground. This process requires an adjustment of the existing building lines, which define the boundary between public roads and private properties.
The building line plan was provisionally adopted on March 31, 2026, marking the first step in the legal procedure. Following a public inquiry period of 30 days, during which residents can submit comments and objections, the municipal council will definitively adopt the plan.
The new slow road is intended to provide a safe, car-free route for visitors to the new sports hall and the after-school childcare (BKO). The project also emphasizes the green character of the municipal park, with all felled trees being compensated by planting new ones to maintain Lint's green lung.
