The Houthulststraat in Staden will undergo a significant renovation between Stadenreke and Kapelleriestraat, with works on the sewage system and roadway set to start in the autumn of 2028.

The municipality of Staden, in collaboration with Aquafin and Fluvius, is undertaking a major renovation of the Houthulststraat. The project includes the installation of a new separate sewage system for wastewater and rainwater, the creation of distinct and safer bike paths, the replacement of the concrete roadway with asphalt incorporating traffic-calming measures, and the adaptation of bus stops with raised platforms for improved accessibility. Parts of Walstraat, Vrijbosstraat, Soetestraat, and Landweg will also be renewed.
The detailed plans will be finalized in 2027. Work on the utility lines is scheduled for the spring of 2028, followed by the sewage and road construction in the autumn of 2028. Traffic disruptions are expected during the works, and affected residents will be informed promptly.
Comprehensive information regarding the planned works, including presentations and street maps, is available on the official website of the municipality of Staden at www.staden.be/houthulststraat. This page will be updated as the project progresses.
