The City of Menen provides a detailed overview of the status and upcoming planned works on the Larstraat and surrounding areas, with a schedule extending to Spring 2027.

The central roundabout was opened to all traffic in mid-September, with necessary road markings completed. The diversion via the side street along Vandenbogaerde has been removed. In the vicinity of Vandenbogaerde, local sewage works are finished, and connections to the roadway, cycle paths, and driveways are almost complete.
Work is currently underway at two locations: Phase 6 near Deny Logistics / Verzekeringen Vroman-Bourgeois / Intertrans and Phase 7 in the Larstraat. In the first zone, foundation work for the new roadway is nearly finished, street gullies are being installed, and a few house connections still need to be made.
In the Larstraat (Phase 7), asphalt milling has begun, and sewage works are in full progress. This phase is expected to last until Spring 2027.
The schedule indicates that in the first zone (Phase 6), the final house connections and street gullies will be completed. The concrete kerbstones will be poured in the week of November 09, with the aim of finishing the asphalt sub-layer in this phase by the end of November. For Phase 7 in the Larstraat, existing sewage systems are being broken up and new ones systematically installed, with street gullies to be placed as quickly as possible to prevent waterlogging.
For the next phase, Phase 8 near VDAB & Widem Logistics, preparatory work (drainage, etc.) is planned to start before the Christmas holidays. After the holidays, sewage work will commence up to the middle of the quays of Widem Logistics. Further timing will be communicated based on progress.
The City of Menen kindly requests that parking and/or standing on the roadway, particularly along the diversion route next to the railway terminal, cease to ensure smooth and safe traffic circulation for all road users. Contractor Stadsbader will be on autumn leave on November 02 and November 03, resulting in slightly less activity on and around the site that week.
Regarding the traffic situation near the petrol station on the LAR Zuid business park, it is a recurring issue with the cause lying on private property, over which the city has limited influence. The City of Menen is in discussion with all involved parties to explore possible measures. The police cannot intervene as the trucks are only queuing.
At the traffic lights at Brun Cornet with N58, there are no longer any push buttons or signage for pedestrians and cyclists. They are requested not to cross here but to use Dronckaertstraat and Grote Kruisstraat or Triloystraat and Gentstraat to reach the LAR.
