Over 600 entrepreneurs from Deerlijk, Harelbeke, Kuurne, and Zwevegem will gather on Thursday, October 22, 2026, for an inter-municipal networking evening. This initiative, building on a previous collaboration in 2025, aims to connect entrepreneurs across municipal borders and create opportunities for cooperation.
The evening will feature a keynote by Mohsin Abbas titled 'From the Basement to the Top'. He will share his personal story and insights on entrepreneurship, intending to inspire attendees.
Following the keynote, a networking reception with drinks and a local dessert will provide ample opportunity for attendees to connect. Alderman Arthur Buckens of Zwevegem highlighted the importance of cross-border collaboration and the positive reception of this initiative.
The four municipalities are joining forces to better support local entrepreneurs, exchange knowledge and experiences, and develop joint initiatives. Alderman Isabelle Vereecke (Kuurne) emphasized that a strong network benefits every entrepreneur, whether a starter or experienced, and that the evening helps facilitate introductions.
Alderman Regine Rooryck (Deerlijk) sees the collaboration as a lever for growth, new ideas, and a thriving economy. Alderman Kathleen Duchi (Harelbeke) added that pooling resources enhances economic dynamism and addresses the needs of entrepreneurs, without sacrificing each municipality's unique identity. By leveraging complementary strengths, a stronger regional network emerges.
