Kortrijk has recently installed 'Selfie for All' tiles, a world first from Toerisme Vlaanderen, assisting blind and visually impaired visitors in taking selfies.

Toerisme Vlaanderen has launched Selfie for All, an innovative tactile tile designed to help visitors take the perfect selfie, regardless of their visual ability. This initiative ensures that everyone, with or without a disability, can share the same tourist experience.
Taking a selfie at a special location is a common holiday moment for many. However, for blind or visually impaired visitors, finding the right position relative to a landmark can be challenging. The Selfie for All tile addresses this by guiding visitors to the correct spot and the right direction for their smartphone.
Thanks to NaviLens technology, visitors with visual impairments can locate the tile from a distance. Additionally, the tile provides audio information describing the surroundings and highlighting what makes the location special.
Although the tiles were specifically developed for people with visual impairments, they can be used by anyone. The initiative was officially presented on October 13, 2026, in Mechelen. In Kortrijk, several tiles have already been installed at locations such as the Broeltorens (near Broelkaai), the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk (near Begijnhofpark), the Grote Markt (near the historic town hall), and the Collegebrug (near Buda Beach).
