On Thursday, October 15, the local government of Heusden-Zolder is hosting the annual Youca Action Day, where twelve students from the Sint-Franciscuscollege will spend a day working within municipal departments.

During the Youca Action Day, students from the third grade exchange their school benches for a workplace at a company, organization, municipality, or institution for one day. For their efforts, they receive 70 euros. This amount is fully donated to youth projects working globally for a sustainable, just, and solidary society.
This year's campaign is themed 'Voor geen geld ter wereld' (For no money in the world). Together with partners from Spain, the Philippines, and Brazil, Youca advocates for a just economy, promoting fairer coexistence, production, and consumption with respect for people and the planet.
By participating in the Youca Action Day, the local government of Heusden-Zolder aims to give young people the opportunity to gain work experience while simultaneously contributing to an initiative focused on global solidarity and sustainability.
