Gemeentebestuur Beernem

Regional Landscapes encourages regular pollarding of trees to prevent them from becoming too large and tearing. Winter, when sap flow is low and leaves have fallen, is the ideal period, from November to March.

To connect wood seekers and wood providers, Regional Landscapes developed the online platform www.goedgeknot.be. This website links owners of small landscape elements, such as pollarded trees, hedges, or coppices, with trained cutters. In exchange for performing the pruning work free of charge, the cutters may keep the wood.
Owners with trees in a landscape context are invited to register their trees at www.goedgeknot.be/ik-heb-knotbomen. They can enter the exact location and add a few photos of the trees. Trees in gardens are not eligible for this initiative.
