Households in Zoutleeuw that use natural gas for heating via Fluvius's budget meter function can receive help this winter if they lack sufficient funds to recharge their meter. Starting November 1, 2026, they can submit an application to the OCMW of Zoutleeuw for assistance with the 'minimum natural gas supply'.
The scheme specifically aims to ensure that vulnerable households maintain access to essential heating during the coldest months of the year, from November 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.
The support is accessible to all residents of Zoutleeuw who obtain their natural gas through Fluvius's prepaid system and are financially unable to recharge the meter. It is not necessary to be a regular client of the OCMW to be eligible for this support; anyone in this situation can apply. The OCMW will conduct a social and financial assessment to determine eligibility for the assistance.
Applications can be made by visiting the Sociaal Huis of Zoutleeuw, located at Prins Leopoldplaats 3, 3440 Zoutleeuw. Be sure to bring your identity card and all relevant documents regarding your current energy and financial situation.
