The governor and royal advisor received a box of Kampenhout ground witloof during a visit to De Krop cultural center in Kampenhout, where local governance challenges were also discussed.

Both gentlemen received a warm welcome at the De Krop cultural and experience center. Not only the college of mayor and aldermen was present, but also the members of the honorary guild ‘Ghesellen van het Witloof’. During the solemn part, the governor and the royal advisor received a box of real Kampenhout ground witloof from witloof growers Danny Schoevaerts and Bieke Hoogeras. The witloof municipality will now annually gift witloof to the Royal Palace.
After a short tour of the Witloof Museum by mayor Kris Leaerts, the working visit of governor Jan Spooren was on the agenda. Together with the college of mayor and aldermen and the management team of the local administration, he focused on the challenges lying ahead for the local administration and how provincial services can provide support.
It was a fruitful visit that further strengthened the ties between the province and Kampenhout.
