The evening began with music and a presentation of all youth players active at Eendracht Hekelgem. Under the watchful eye of professional footballer and former player Eran Tuypens, the new artificial turf field was officially opened by Mayor Walter De Donder and the college of aldermen.
Afterwards, the gala match took place, with the first team of Eendracht Hekelgem playing against Rhodienne De Hoek in an atmospheric stadium.
Following the match, supporters continued the celebration with a festive night.
