The municipality of Beveren-Kruibeke-Zwijndrecht is launching a participatory process for the creation of its Spatial Policy Plan. This plan, which will determine the spatial future of the municipality for the coming decades, is being developed in collaboration with its residents. The process, expected to last approximately three years, begins with a series of game nights.
Under the name 'Uw Gedacht' (Your Thought), an interactive board game is being used to involve residents in important spatial decisions. Questions about housing construction, mobility, nature, agriculture, shops, and businesses are addressed playfully. The input from participants forms the first building block for the new policy plan.
The game nights will take place in the former municipalities, each from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. On Tuesday, December 1st, there will be a session in Kruibeke (OC De Brouwerij), on Tuesday, December 8th, in Zwijndrecht (town hall), and on Thursday, December 17th, in Beveren (town hall). Pre-registration is required to ensure enough game tables. Participants can join individually or come as a group with friends, neighbors, colleagues, family, or associations.
A Spatial Policy Plan serves as a compass for the municipality's future, determining how space will be managed in terms of construction, transportation, open space, agriculture, nature, and business. The plan aims to respect the unique character of the thirteen sub-municipalities of the young merged municipality of Beveren-Kruibeke-Zwijndrecht while providing a common direction for spatial planning.
