“"A teacher can have an enormous impact on a child's life. That's why we believe it's important for teachers to also have a strong network to fall back on. With this evening, we bring colleagues from different schools together and make the threshold to our partners as small as possible. Teachers exchange experiences, discover a broader range of offerings, and better know who to turn to with questions afterwards. In this way, we try to inform and inspire the people who work with our children and young people every day."

Bibliotheek Pelt and Huis van het Kind Pelt are hosting their second annual Teachers' Evening to bring education professionals together around practical themes relevant to their daily work.
Following last year's success, Bibliotheek Pelt and Huis van het Kind Pelt are continuing their concept of gathering education professionals around themes directly related to their daily practice. The six sessions offered during the evening covered diverse topics such as multilingualism, rich texts, reading promotion, conflict management, and kamishibai. School agent Michèle Heydens explained her work and the school protocol.
Beyond the sessions, exchange was central. Participants met colleagues from other schools, spoke with staff from Bibliotheek Pelt and Huis van het Kind Pelt, and discovered materials, collections, and support they can utilize during the school year. This second edition strengthens the collaboration with education professionals from the region, bringing together education, culture, and well-being.
Katrien Kenis, Alderman for child, talent, and family, emphasized the importance of a strong network for teachers. She stated that the evening brings colleagues together, lowers the barrier to partners, facilitates experience exchange, and broadens the available resources, ensuring teachers know where to seek help. This initiative aims to inform and inspire those working daily with children and youth.
