After six months of tasting and discovering, the winners of the culinary project ‘Mol has a bean for you’ were announced during a closing evening on Monday, October 26. Koffiebar Filter won the public award, Maison Beautique the professional award for lunch, and restaurant de Doornboom from campus Sint-Jan Berchmans the professional award for dinner.

During the project, visitors submitted over 200 reviews for the plant-based dishes from 9 participating hospitality businesses in Mol. Top chef Pieter-Jan Lint guided the participants and hosted the closing evening.
The public award was chosen based on visitor reviews. The professional awards were granted by plant-based chefs Tine Sterckx (Natural Living, De Levensboom), Ann Wuyts (Wellzen), and foodie Ann Van der Staey. The winners received a unique, handmade award from students of Textile Art from the Academy of Visual Arts.
General practitioner Staf Henderickx gave a lecture on ultra-processed food and health, based on his book ‘Dit slik ik niet meer!’.
