Residents of Heist-op-den-Berg, Bonheiden, and Putte can now benefit from the presence of a first-line psychologist within social services, bringing psychological support closer to home.

The three municipalities, in collaboration with Netwerk Emergo, have appointed three first-line psychologists. The aim is to make psychological help more accessible, especially for vulnerable residents. Through close cooperation with social workers from the social services departments, residents can receive the necessary support more quickly.
The first-line psychologists offer individual consultations on fixed days in the three municipalities. Residents can register through the social services. During these sessions, concerns can be discussed, problems clarified, and appropriate short-term support plans developed. If necessary, referrals are made to specialized care.
Furthermore, the psychologists also support social workers and other first-line actors by sharing psychological expertise. This helps them to recognize mental health needs more quickly and guide residents to appropriate help.
In Heist-op-den-Berg, Katrien Schroyens takes on the role of first-line psychologist. Registrations are handled through the Social Services Team.
