The jury for the Playwriting Prize has selected seven Dutch-language plays with international potential, now eligible for the Translation Prize.

From 84 submissions, the jury selected seven texts that have a chance to win the Translation Prize. This award aims to promote Dutch-language plays among professionals in the international theatre field, with a specific focus on the German-speaking area.
The nominated texts are: ALLEEN MAAR LIEVE JONGENS by Casper Vandeputte, FCK LOLITA by Annet Bremen, VITRINE by Ellis Meeusen and Steven Beersmans, NACHTWACHT by Rik van den Bos and Marieke van Veen, EN ZE MAAKTE EEN KIND by Sarah Sluimer, YELLOWCAKE, LITTLE BOY by Stijn Devillé, and ALLEDAAGS VERLIES by Willem de Wolf, Lineke Rijxman and Wannes Gyselinck.
A jury of three German-speaking theatre professionals – director Maaike van Langen, dramaturge Katja Herlemann, and translator Eva Pieper – will determine the winner. The announcement will be made this autumn.
The winning text will be professionally translated into German. Furthermore, it will be presented in June 2027 during the DramatikerInnenfestival in Graz, Austria, to ensure an introduction to the German-speaking theatre scene.
The Translation Prize is a joint initiative of Fonds Podiumkunsten and Literatuur Vlaanderen. This year, Fonds Podiumkunsten is responsible for the organization.
