The forests in Bonheiden will be preemptively closed on Friday, October 22nd. This measure is being taken out of extra caution, even though the code is currently yellow. Normally, this is only done at orange code, but the current circumstances justify this early closure.
The past summer, the trees in the region have experienced prolonged drought and high temperatures. Combined with the leaves still on the trees, strong winds can increase the risk of breaking branches or falling trees. To ensure visitor safety, everyone is urged to avoid the forests and other wooded areas.
Weather conditions are being closely monitored. Any changes, such as an upgrade from yellow code to orange code, will be communicated via the municipality's website and social media. The municipality thanks everyone for their understanding and cooperation.
