The local authority aims to establish a future vision for this special location through the RUP, protecting and enhancing heritage and nature. Limited housing development will enable the restoration of the historic country house.
Within the project area, space is allocated for housing under strict conditions. The historic country house can be repurposed, and a zone is designated for additional residential developments that will facilitate its restoration. New buildings must match the scale and architecture of the existing heritage and must not negatively impact the site's landscape quality. Above-ground parking will be minimized, with a focus on underground parking to preserve open space and the site's green character.
A significant portion of the area is designated as park and garden, aimed at preserving and further developing natural, landscape, and heritage values. No new buildings are permitted in these zones. Paved surfaces will be limited and must be water-permeable. Measures will be imposed to prevent disturbance to fauna and flora, including attention to lighting and the protection of animal habitats.
The draft RUP also includes strengthening the network of slow lanes to improve accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists. These connections will be integrated into the landscape and contribute to safe and pleasant movement through the area.
The community gardens south of Vijverhof will be maintained and may be expanded, with guidelines for permitted construction.
The draft RUP was approved for provisional adoption by the municipal council on Monday, September 28. A public inquiry will now take place from October 9 to December 7, 2026. Residents, owners, and stakeholders can view the draft and submit comments or objections. These will be reviewed by the GECORO, after which the plan may be adjusted before final adoption.
