During an information market at StAPwest, the initial drafts of the spatial policy plan were presented. The concept note, available online at www.veurne.be/beleidsplan-ruimte, outlines six ambitions for the city's spatial future. Following the presentation, there was an opportunity for discussion and exchange of valuable opinions and visions.
Those who missed the information market can still provide feedback until November 13 during the public consultation. The concept note can also be read at Stadskantoor De Seylsteen, Sint-Denisplaats 16. Comments can be submitted by registered mail, in person, via email to ruimtelijke.ordening@veurne.be, or through the web form and survey on the city's website.
The policy plan is necessary to address future spatial challenges, such as hotter summers, more intense rainfall, and changing demographics, while maintaining a high-quality environment for living, working, and moving, with a focus on climate and sustainability. Smart use of space is key.
The six spatial ambitions serve as a starting point for dialogue with residents and entrepreneurs. They are based on a thorough analysis of the current city and its villages, aiming to preserve and enhance existing qualities while addressing future challenges.
