The City of Veurne, Aquafin, and Aquaduin have signed a declaration of commitment to tackle the final section of Noordstraat in an integrated project.

By bundling the works, the three partners aim to better coordinate the execution and minimize disruption for residents. The declaration of commitment was approved by the municipal council.
The dossier has undergone several adjustments and revisions over the years, including Aquafin's withdrawal and re-engagement as a project partner following the tightening of the European Urban Wastewater Directive. This project now falls under Local Pact 10.
The project includes the construction of separate sewage systems, the connection of homes and the sports park, as well as road and beautification works. Aquafin is responsible for the segment between Karpelstraat and Slablinckgeleed. Aquaduin will handle the sewage system in the northern segment, from Slablinckgeleed to the cemeteries, while Stad Veurne will manage the road and beautification works.
The next step is to appoint a designer. Once the design is complete, an initial residents' meeting will be organized.
