On October 28th, the nine youth nature guides received their official certificate from IVN Natuureducatie, following an autumn filled with learning and discovery. They are now fully equipped to take children on adventures in this special nature area.
These new guides join the volunteer network of De Vroente and the Libelhamelclub of the Grenspark, a group dedicated to passing on their love for nature to the next generation.
The training emphasized learning by doing. Participants explored the landscape, practiced playful educational methods, and learned how children best learn through direct experience. Enthusiasm and a passion for nature and children were prioritized over prior knowledge.
Thanks to the new guides, the programs of De Vroente and the Libelhamelclub can continue, allowing children to explore the diverse landscape.
Participants reflected positively on the training, describing it as "Educational, fun, and inspiring" and a comprehensive package. Comments shared included, "It was a complete program with a lot of variety" and "Ultimately, we are all still a bit of a child."
A new training for Youth Nature Guides will start in the spring of 2027 in the Van Gogh National Park West. Interested individuals can express their interest via the form at www.ivn.nl/brabant/vrijwilliger-kn.
