The city center of Torhout is now fully accessible to traffic and outdoor seating following the completion of renovation works. The roadway of the Vrijetijdshuis, Zwanestraat, and the intersections with Oostendestraat and Burg will reopen on Friday, October 30th, at 12 PM.

The second phase of the city center renovation, which began on September 21st, is now fully completed. Several streets around the Market Square were closed for stone repairs and joint drying. The works proceeded smoothly, allowing the area to open a week earlier than planned.
This means the Market Square is fully open again for cafes, events, and traffic. The 'Wandel, winkel, win' (Walk, shop, win) campaign continues until the originally scheduled end of the works on November 6th. Customers who shop locally at participating businesses in the construction zone can win a 100 euro voucher.
