Retailers and hospitality businesses in Poperinge are preparing for a festive shopping weekend, organized by Unizo, Comeos, and UCM. This year marks the tenth edition of the Weekend of the Customer.
On Saturday, October 3rd, from 2 PM to 5 PM, there will be children's entertainment on the Grote Markt. Visitors will receive a free mini-dessert from vzw Hop-On!. Children can enjoy a barefoot path, have balloons made by a balloon artist, and get face painting and glitter tattoos.
For the first time, Retail Raves will also be held in Poperinge, combining shopping with music. At the garden center Au Petit Jardin, from 10 AM to 12 PM, visitors can enjoy music and a free breakfast. Fashion store Belle A Mie will treat visitors from 1 PM to 3 PM to a DJ set by DJ Rudi, along with a drink, sandwich, and dessert.
From September 28th to October 4th, customers can exchange 30 Pop.punten at participating retailers for a chance to win one of the 80 regional product baskets. The winners will be announced in the week of October 5th.
During the Weekend of the Customer, shoppers also have the chance to win back their purchase amount. The promotion is valid for purchases made on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, in Poperinge and its sub-municipalities. More information can be found at www.weekendvandeklant.be.
