From late September to late November 2026, the mobile Energy House will visit several neighborhoods in Oostende. Residents are welcome for free and independent advice on saving energy, renovating, and heating, among other topics.
The mobile Energy House provides answers to questions such as: How can you save energy? Which renovation works are interesting for your home? Which grants or loans can you apply for? This advice comes directly to the residents of Oostende.
In the autumn, the mobile Energy House will tour four Oostende neighborhoods. A second edition in the spring of 2027 will cover the remaining neighborhoods. Residents can visit for free, walk-in, personal, and independent advice on energy, renovation, and housing.
The locations where the mobile Energy House will stop are:
- Oostende Library, Wellingtonstraat 17 - from Saturday September 26 to Sunday October 11, 2026
- OC De Ballon, Mansveldstraat 9 - from Monday October 12 to Wednesday October 28, 2026
- OC De Blomme, Chrysantenstraat 30 - from Thursday October 29 to Sunday November 15, 2026
- OC Ter Yde, Duinenstraat 172 - from Monday November 16 to Sunday November 29, 2026
Exact opening hours can be found at www.oostende.be/energiehuis. An appointment is not necessary. Those unable to visit during the mobile Energy House's opening hours can also visit the office at Torhoutsesteenweg 287. The advice is always free and independent.
Judith Ooms, alderman for Energy & Climate, emphasizes the initiative's importance: "With the mobile Energy House, we bring free and independent advice on energy and renovation directly to the residents of Oostende. We come to your neighborhood with energy information, so everyone can make the right choices for their home and situation. This way, we make energy saving and sustainable living accessible to everyone."
In addition to the mobile office, Energiehuis Oostende is organizing ten free information sessions during the campaign. These sessions will cover various topics related to energy, housing, and saving, such as how tenants can save energy, available group purchases, what to know about asbestos, how to heat without natural gas or heating oil, available grants and loans, and how to get the most out of your digital meter.
During the information sessions, residents will receive practical information and independent explanations in clear language, with opportunities to ask questions and discuss specific situations. Dates, locations, and themes for the information sessions can be found at www.oostende.be/energiehuis.
