In Halle, World Animal Day on Sunday, October 4th will be celebrated with the second edition of the 'Pootjes op pad' dog walk. This event invites dogs and their owners to explore nature together, meet fellow dog lovers, and enjoy a day filled with walking and playing.
This year, four walking routes are available, catering to different levels of exertion and distance. In addition to last year's familiar routes, two new ones have been added: one leading towards Buizingen and another staying closer to the city center. This ensures that both dog and owner can find a suitable trek.
All routes will start this year from the Grote Markt in the heart of Halle. This offers the convenience of easily exploring the city center after the walk, perhaps by relaxing at a cafe or visiting local shops.
Between 10 AM and 2 PM, participants can start their walk at their leisure. The Grote Markt will feature additional entertainment, including a free microchip check for dogs, an information stand on animal welfare (adoption, sterilization), a play zone for dogs, and a surprise goodie bag, thanks to local pet stores.
Participants are reminded to adhere to the general rules: dogs must be kept on a leash in public areas, and dog waste must always be cleaned up.
