The Municipality of Menen provides an update on the ongoing sewer works in the 't Paradijs neighborhood, with specific details on Neerweg and Vagevuurstraat.

Sewer works in the 't Paradijs neighborhood of Menen are in full swing along Neerweg and Vagevuurstraat. The municipality is providing a status update and an overview of upcoming activities.
Phase 3A on Neerweg (between Schelpenstraat and Neerweg 1) is largely completed. The sewer system has been installed, house connections are made, and preparations for the road surface are underway. Through traffic remains impossible for the time being.
In Phase 5A of Vagevuurstraat (nr. 2-60), the work zone has expanded. The intersection with Vaandelstraat is open, making several streets dead-end until approximately mid-December 2026. The Ten Bulcke neighborhood remains accessible via the Schelpenstraat/Grote Weg intersection until early December. Sewerage up to the Vaandelstraat intersection has been laid, and house connections have begun.
For Schelpenstraat (Phase 1B), the application of impregnating agent and planting of greenery are still planned, which should cause minimal disruption. A parking ban will be implemented at the bend of Schelpenstraat to improve traffic visibility.
In Paradijsstraat (Phase 2A and 2B), planting of greenery and application of impregnating agent and markings will start soon. The pumping station will be activated in the week of October 19. These works are expected to cause little inconvenience.
On Neerweg (Phase 3A), the installation of kerbstones will commence shortly, and in the week of October 26, a section of the road will receive a base layer of asphalt.
At the intersection of Vagevuurstraat x Neerweg (Phase 5A), sewer manhole covers will be finished, followed by the installation of kerbstones. The intersection of Vaandelstraat x Vagevuurstraat will remain open as a connection between Vagevuurstraat and Paradijsstraat. Additional low-nuisance slag will be applied around the last two placed sewer manholes. After the autumn holidays, the intersection of Neerweg x Vagevuurstraat will be concreted, with the aim of reopening it before the Christmas holidays, weather permitting.
The installation of the sewer system for Phase 4A (branch Neerweg 68 – Vagevuurstraat 79) begins the week of October 19. All dates are subject to change.
The municipality thanks residents and organizers for their patience and flexibility during the ongoing works, especially concerning the Paradijs fair. During the autumn holidays (November 2 to 6), there will be minimal activity on the site as the contractor is on leave.
Interruptions to utility services (water, gas, electricity, or telecommunications) may occur during works. These can be reported directly to the respective utility companies: De Watergroep (water), Fluvius (gas, electricity), and Telenet (telecommunications).
