The Edward Verheyestraat in Knokke-Heist will undergo sewer and road works starting Monday, October 26, 2026. These works, part of the Driewege project, are being carried out two years earlier than planned to minimize disruption.

From Monday, October 26, 2026, at 7 AM, the Edward Verheyestraat will be closed to traffic between Sebastiaan Nachtegaelestraat and Van Steenestraat. During this first phase, homes and garages within the construction zone will not be accessible by car. Depending on progress, work on the remaining section of the street, up to Smedenstraat, will commence at the earliest from December 7, 2026. The entire construction period is expected to last until June 2027.
During this phase, the Edward Verheyestraat between Sebastiaan Nachtegaelestraat and Van Steenestraat will be closed to all traffic. In the section between Smedenstraat and Van Steenestraat, only local traffic will be permitted. Diversions will be in place via Smedenstraat towards Maurice Lippensplein and via Smedenstraat, Stadionstraat, and Edward Verheyestraat towards Kragendijk. The police station, MAAK, and De Stormmeeuw sports hall will remain accessible from the direction of Smedenstraat.
Parking within the construction zone is not allowed. Residents can use surrounding streets and parking facilities. Those temporarily unable to access their garage can apply for a 'road works' parking permit at the Parkingshop on Gemeenteplein 22 for 10 euros, valid during the period their garage is inaccessible. Existing parking zones within the project area will remain accessible as much as possible.
To ensure smooth waste collection, AGSO-Afvalbeheer and the municipal council request residents to place household waste bags at the corners of side streets outside the construction zone in a timely manner. The municipality and contractor thank residents for their understanding and cooperation.
