Around 100 students from KU Leuven Kulak were baptized yesterday by Presidium Dionysia, symbolizing the start of the student academic year.

As is customary each year, the student baptism at KU Leuven Kulak took place yesterday. Approximately 100 students completed various tasks to earn the coveted sash to be worn on their left shoulder by the end of the day.
The baptism was conducted by the members of Presidium Dionysia, led by preses Linde Vermeesrsch. Each member signed both the city of Kortrijk's baptism charter and the KU Leuven baptism charter. The student services department and the student dean also oversaw the proceedings to ensure everything ran smoothly.
The baptism symbolizes the launch of a student-oriented academic year.

"Presidium Dionysia Kulak has had a good start to this academic year. Having fun together is central. Yesterday, about 100 Kulak students were baptized with respect for each other and the environment, but dirty clothes are unavoidable. After the baptism, the new 'schachten' (freshmen) can shower, followed by an official ceremony and a party to conclude the ritual."
