This year, seven nominees are in contention for a spot on the Wall of Merit: Bertrand De Bouvere, Jan Rosseel, Mathieu Coolen, Patrick Piesen, Ria Blondeel, Ronny Engelrelst, and Sylvie Desmidt. Each has contributed to the municipality of Knokke-Heist in their own way.
The public will help decide who ultimately receives a permanent place. The nominees' stories can be explored on the HEY Museum website, where voting also takes place.
The voting period runs until December 31, 2026. The municipality encourages residents to cast their vote and share the news via Facebook and Twitter.
