With the new platform, the municipality aims to provide a central point for all applications, reducing the need for separate emails and forms. Users will encounter targeted questionnaires and can easily track the status of their applications. Data will only need to be entered once.
Information sessions will be held in January to guide users through the new system and explain the application process step-by-step.
To ensure a smooth transition and avoid duplicate administration, the municipality requests that certain applications be postponed. This applies to: small events taking place from March 1, 2027, large or high-risk events from May 1, 2027, and loan materials needed from March 1, 2027.
All events and materials scheduled to take place before these dates must still be applied for through the current event counter and the existing form for loan materials.
Small events include neighborhood parties, food festivals, open days, bingo or raffle games, garage sales, markets, theater performances, concerts, gigs, parties, and sports activities or tours, with a maximum of 1000 attendees. Large and high-risk events involve multi-day events, festivals, motocross, tractor pulling, cycling races, equestrian events, events with significant traffic impact or safety risks, those requiring an environmental permit, and those with over 1000 attendees.
Anyone unsure about the correct application period can contact the municipality. Applications already submitted for 2027 have received an email confirmation.
Finally, the municipality reminds citizens about the Association Counter of the Flemish Government, where associations can register. More information can be found on the municipality's website.
