On Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 10 AM, Knokke-Heist will launch the 10-day Mental Health Awareness Week. Colorful hopscotch paths bearing the message Samen Veerkrachtig (Together Resilient) will appear in various locations across the municipality.
Residents, schools, employees, and organizations are encouraged to participate by jumping at the same time, whether alone, with colleagues, classmates, neighbors, or from their own doorstep. All that is needed is sidewalk chalk to draw a hopscotch path and write the message Samen Veerkrachtig at the top.
Photos and short videos of the event can be shared using #samenveerkrachtigKH, uniting these small jumps into one significant moment. The 10-day event, running from October 1st to October 10th, focuses on resilience, connection, and mutual care.
During this period, free cards will also be available at various municipal services. These can be taken, personalized, and delivered to someone who may be struggling or could use some support, serving as a small gesture that might initiate a meaningful conversation.
