Culture Centre Het Perron in Ieper has equipped its Theatre Hall with Sennheiser MobileConnect, a system allowing visitors with hearing difficulties to listen to performances directly through their own smartphone and hearing aid.

Visitors who have difficulty hearing a performance clearly can now listen to the sound directly on their own hearing aid or earphones. The system works via the visitor's smartphone. After downloading the free MobileConnect app, visitors connect to the hearing assistance Wi-Fi network in the Theater Hall. In the app, the visitor selects the correct hall, and the sound is transmitted directly. Volume and sound can be personally adjusted.
With this new system, Het Perron aims to lower the barrier for individuals who find it harder to follow a performance. The hearing assistance is specifically intended for people who require this support.
All practical information and a simple step-by-step guide are available at hetperron.be/hoorhulp. Staff members at Het Perron also provide on-site assistance with setting up the hearing aid.
