As of today, September 23, De Deelfabriek welcomes a new partner: De Heerlijkheid van Heule. They will henceforth offer fresh soup, a healthy lunch, and homemade pastries every Wednesday. The operation is a collaboration with young people from the guidance program Aura, an initiative of Oranjehuis vzw. These young individuals gain practical experience in a real work environment, aiding their transition to the job market.
De Deelfabriek is known for its lively Wednesdays, filled with encounters and visitors exploring its diverse initiatives. With the arrival of this new culinary concept in the central hall, the offerings are expanded. Giovanny Saelens, Alderman for Social Affairs, emphasizes that this collaboration with De Heerlijkheid van Heule and Oranjehuis vzw reflects De Deelfabriek's core values: sustainability, connection, and talent development.
The partnership was established through Oranjehuis vzw, of which both Aura and De Heerlijkheid van Heule are part. De Heerlijkheid van Heule, located on a historic farm in Heule, combines agriculture, nature, social interaction, and guidance. Young people and volunteers assist in cultivating and processing organic products, experience they now bring to De Deelfabriek. This synergy perfectly complements the mission of De Deelfabriek as a meeting place for social initiatives and local residents.
Sabine Bourgeois, Director of Oranje Huis, sees significant added value in this cross-pollination. Young people gain opportunities in the job market, De Deelfabriek receives increased visibility, and the promotion of healthy, locally produced food gets a boost. Every Wednesday, visitors can enjoy a menu featuring seasonal vegetables, wraps, salads, fresh soup with homemade bread, and pastries.
In addition to the culinary offerings, Wednesdays also feature other activities such as board games, a book exchange, and parent-child activities. This transforms De Deelfabriek into a vibrant meeting place focused on connection, relaxation, and community. Prices range from €5.5 for soup and warm lunch to €12 for a cold lunch.
