The initiative Samen Veerkrachtig is launching the 'Spreukenattack' to encourage people to reflect on their mental well-being and that of those around them, focusing on the theme 'Being Well Surrounded'.

Through 'small messages', the aim is to bring smiles to people's faces and encourage them to pause and consider how they and those close to them are truly doing. The initiative acknowledges that almost everyone experiences difficult periods at some point, yet conversations about them are not always easy. A quote can be the starting point for a warm chat.
This year's central theme is 'Being Well Surrounded'. This encompasses not only having people around you but also feeling genuinely connected to them. A listening ear, a friendly neighbor, or a colleague asking how you are can make a significant difference to mental well-being.
Sometimes, a chat with family, a friend, a neighbor, or a colleague is not enough. In such cases, you don't have to face it alone. Your GP or a first-line psychologist in your area can provide further assistance. A psychologist can be found via www.elpen.be.
Samen Veerkrachtig is an initiative by Gezondheidsmakers, Te Gek!?, and the Vlaams Instituut Gezond Leven, with support from the Flemish Government. The 'Spreukenattack' was coordinated by the inter-municipal prevention workers of Gezondheidsmakers, who are active in various local authorities in the Westhoek and Midwest regions.
