The library branch in Heist, located at Maes en Boereboomplein, officially reopened its doors on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, following a successful relocation effort.

Over 1,600 comic books were transported to the new Heist location on Friday, October 30, 2026, by more than 125 pupils from Gemeentelijke Basisschool Het Anker and Basisschool De Zeeparel. The children formed a long book chain, passing the comics one by one.
The move took place on Halloween, with pupils dressed as angels, devils, witches, and superheroes. Upon arrival at the new library, named Hoost, the children helped place the comics, getting the first opportunity to explore the new library, which they did with great enthusiasm.
This collaboration ensured a smooth move and allowed the pupils to discover their new library in a fun way.
