As part of the World Day for Overcoming Poverty and Exclusion, ATD Fourth World Movement Avelgem will screen the award-winning film ‘I, Daniel Blake’ on Wednesday, October 14th. The screening will be followed by a discussion on the barriers that people in poverty face in leading a dignified life.

The film tells the story of a middle-aged carpenter and a single mother who become entangled in a web of bureaucracy when they are forced to seek welfare. Both lost in the administrative maze of contemporary Great Britain, they try to help each other maintain their dignity.
The event is organized by ATD Fourth World Movement in collaboration with the Municipality of Avelgem, the Library, the Gezinsbond, and the Davidsfonds.
