The 'Tree of the Village' competition in Tremelo, where residents could nominate their favorite tree, culminates on Sunday, October 11, with the announcement of the winner at the presbytery in Wezemaal.

Residents of Tremelo have spent the past months nominating their favorite tree for the ‘Tree of the Village’ competition. The contest sought trees with a special story, historical significance, or an important place in the village landscape.
This initiative by Regionaal Landschap Noord-Hageland received numerous nominations. A professional jury then selected the favorites, on which residents could vote in recent weeks.
The voting has now concluded. The announcement of the winning tree, which will receive the title ‘Tree of the Village’, will take place on Sunday, October 11, at 12:30 PM at the presbytery in Wezemaal.
The award ceremony marks the start of a pleasant afternoon filled with activities such as walks, bike rides, covered wagon tours, children's entertainment, live music, snacks, and drinks. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the activities and discover which tree will henceforth be called the ‘Tree of the Village’.
