During the annual YOUCA Action Day, four motivated young individuals contributed their efforts to various services within the local government of Tielt-Winge, gaining work experience while supporting youth projects in the Peruvian Amazon.

The YOUCA Action Day, an initiative that connects students and employers around social engagement, allowed young people to leave their classrooms for a day and experience a workplace. The proceeds from their workday are directed towards projects that support youth globally. This year, the support is focused on young people in the Peruvian Amazon who are dedicated to protecting the rainforest and their communities.
Orlando Steeno and Alexander Vanderstappen, students from GO! Atheneum De Ring in Leuven, lent a hand in the large kitchen of the local administration during the morning. They assisted with preparing hot meals and subsequently delivered them to clients' homes. In the afternoon, they helped manage books and materials from the municipal library's collection, which is housed in De Maere.
Luka Schoolmeesters from Sancta Maria Aarschot spent the day at CADO, located in the Zonnedries community center. There, he familiarized himself with visitors and participated in various activities, including a memory-training quiz and baking a cake together.
Lenka Van den Eynde, a student from the Katholieke School Diest, worked at Het Elfenhuisje. Assisting the caregivers with daily activities for toddlers, she gained insight into the operations of the group daycare.
The local government of Tielt-Winge expresses its gratitude to the four young participants for their commitment and assistance, noting that their involvement was greatly appreciated.
