The municipality of Tervuren has expanded its welcome policy for newcomers with a renewed website, now named 'Welkom in Tervuren', and an inclusion coach.

New residents in Tervuren can now access the updated website Welkom in Tervuren and receive support from inclusion coach Veerle Germeys. The municipality aims to better guide and support all new residents of different nationalities in their integration.
The website, previously 'Expat op pad' and launched in 2018 with the municipalities of Hoeilaart and Zaventem, has been thoroughly renovated and now offers practical information in Dutch, French, English, and German. The focus has broadened from exclusively expats to all new residents.
In addition to digital information, the municipality also emphasizes personal contact. Veerle Germeys, appointed as inclusion coach this year, contacts new non-Dutch-speaking residents for an introductory meeting. During these meetings, newcomers receive answers to their questions and practical support for their first steps in the municipality, offered in Dutch, French, or English.
Frequently asked questions concern Dutch language courses, leisure activities, hobbies, and waste collection. Through this comprehensive approach, Tervuren aims to help new residents feel at home more quickly.
Interested individuals can schedule an appointment with Veerle Germeys via inclusie@tervuren.be.
