The municipality of Ternat is organizing its annual funfair from Friday, October 16 to Wednesday, October 21, 2026. Setup begins on Thursday, October 15, after the weekly Thursday market. The children's funfair is located on the small side of the market square.
The Annual Fair will take place on Saturday, October 17, in the Statiestraat, from the Okay store to the intersection with Keizerstraat. The fair will be officially opened at 9:30 AM by the municipal council near De Dreef and will conclude at 4:00 PM. Simultaneously, a Livestock Market will be held on and around De Dreef, opening at 9:30 AM and closing at 5:00 PM.
The Livestock Market will feature various attractions, including the Flemish-Brabant Championship Belgian Draft Horse with over 70 horses, a prestigious stallion inspection, animal competitions for cattle and horses, a petting zoo for children, and a display of oldtimer tractors.
The festive tent, organized by Strafste Jaarmarkt vzw, will be located on the large side of the market and is accessible from October 16 to 18. Setup starts on Tuesday, October 13. On Saturday, October 17, at 11 AM, the municipal council invites everyone for free soup with meatballs in the festive tent.
The Thursday market on October 15, 2026, will take place on the small side of the Markt, the Marktplein between Poodstraat and Brusselstraat, and near the Affligemcafé. The market on October 22, 2026, will proceed at its normal location.
From Tuesday, October 13, to Thursday, October 22, temporary traffic measures and parking bans will be in effect around the Marktplein to ensure safety. Several streets, including parts of the Marktplein, De Dreef, Statiestraat, Keizerstraat, and Brusselstraat, will be closed to traffic.
