On Thursday, October 29, the annual Culture Awards of Overijse were presented at CC Den Blank, recognizing individuals and associations dedicated to culture, heritage, and community life.

The very first youth prize, Het Jeanke, goes to thirteen-year-old pianist Iris Keijzer from Jezus-Eik. The jury describes her as an exceptional musical talent who has won numerous national and international awards since she was three and a half. A special concert will be developed with her.
The Keizer Karel Prize is awarded to Frans Demol for his contribution to the local heritage and history of Overijse. Frans is known as the very first Prins Isca during the Druivenfeesten (Grape Festival).
The Justus Lipsius Prize is awarded to journalist Michaël Van Droogenbroeck, who makes complex economic and financial topics understandable to a broad audience. He is also active as a funeral director in the region.
Among the individual laureates for socio-cultural merit, Joris Charlier, coordinator of De Serre at De Berken, takes the award. Patrick Puttemans is second, followed by Jan Vanfraechem in third place.
The first prize for associations in this category goes to Ekseeko, a socio-cultural association for young adults. De Berken comes in second, and Samana (Centrum, Tombeek and Terlanen) is third.
The individual Culture Prize for artistic-cultural merit is awarded to Patrick Puttemans, who has long been involved in the cultural life and preservation of local heritage in Overijse, including being a driving force behind the exhibition on 75 years of Druivenfeesten. Alex Puttemans is second, and Djamila Timmermans third.
Among associations in this category, the organization 75 jaar Druivenfeesten wins for their exhibition and performances. The Koninklijke Harmonie Sint-Martinus (Royal Harmony Saint Martin) is second, followed by De IJsezwaaiers in third place.
The municipality of Overijse congratulates all laureates and nominees for their talent, enthusiasm, and dedication that keep culture alive in the municipality.
