The works, carried out by contractor Emeric D’Hollander, are progressing well. The street will be reopened to all traffic today, September 30, 2026.
The works were conducted in two phases. Phase 1 ran from the middle of the access road of Bouwpunt to just before the intersection with Neromstraat. This phase began on August 17, 2026, and lasted approximately two weeks. Phase 2 started in early September and lasted about four weeks, from the middle of the access road of Bouwpunt to just past the insurance office.
Detours for through traffic were provided within the municipality of Meise via Neromstraat, Ossegemstraat, Hoekstraat, Broekstraat, Potaardestraat, and Kapellelaan. Heavy goods vehicles were rerouted via Neromstraat, Ossegemstraat, Vilvoordsesteenweg, and Kapellelaan. Cyclists were diverted via Schriekdreef.
During phase 2, a diversion loop for local traffic was provided in Kapelle-op-den-Bos, entering from Vroonwegel from Meiselaan and exiting via the current exit at Mulderke.
