The Leuven Library is organizing the Digital Week from October 6 to 16, 2026, an event offering residents a low-threshold introduction to digital applications and skill enhancement.

The program includes a varied offering of workshops, lectures, and personal digital assistance. Alderman for culture Bert Cornillie emphasizes the week's importance: “The digital world is changing rapidly. With the Digital Week, Leuven Library aims to guide residents through this digital landscape. You can bring your digital questions to a digital helper, discover new technologies, and deepen your knowledge.”
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a recurring theme throughout several activities. An interactive workshop by Amai! Vlaanderen introduces innovative Flemish AI applications. Additionally, online deception, including phishing and fraud, will be addressed in the workshop ‘Stronger Together Against Online Deception’, providing practical tips for recognizing deception.
The lecture ‘The Power Behind AI’ by Jurgen Masure delves into the power dynamics behind AI, advocating for a tech world not determined by a handful of billionaires. AI expert Thomas Winters and philosopher Jochanan Eynikel will discuss the role of technology in our daily lives.
During the Digital Help Desk, visitors with specific digital questions can receive assistance from a digital helper regarding smartphones, apps, websites, or digital applications. Questions about the library's new e-book platform will be answered during ‘Q&A: e-books’.
The full program can be found at [leuven.bibliotheek.be/digitaleweek]. Most activities are free, but registration is required. This can be done online, by phone at 016 27 45 00, or at the library's counter.
