Hoeilaart welcomes the DOEndersLAB, a new makerspace for designing, experimenting, and creating, which opens its doors on Wednesday, October 7th at 7 PM at Sport- en Jeugdcentrum Koldam.

On Wednesday, October 7th at 7 PM, the DOEndersLAB will open its doors at Sport- en Jeugdcentrum Koldam in Hoeilaart. This new makerspace, an initiative by Steamwork vzw and We-IT vzw, brings creativity, technology, and collaboration together on the first floor of the center.
During the opening evening, Steamwork and We-IT will present their vision, operations, and future plans for the DOEndersLAB. Visitors will be introduced to the various machines, projects, and possibilities the lab offers to residents, schools, associations, companies, and entrepreneurs.
The DOEndersLAB functions as an open workshop where ideas can grow into tangible creations. Facilities include modern technologies such as 3D printers, laser cutters, electronics, and digital design software. The lab aims to attract a broad audience, emphasizing experimentation and learning by doing to stimulate technical skills, creative thinking, entrepreneurship, and collaboration.
The idea for the DOEndersLAB originated from the collaboration between Steamwork vzw and We-IT vzw, who submitted their project for the Doendersbudget of the local government of Hoeilaart. The project received the most preference votes from residents and was realized thanks to their support and a budget of 25,000 euros, transforming a local idea into a new creative space for the community.
