Haacht is preparing to celebrate the 775th anniversary of Duke Jan Primus, later Duke of Brabant, on April 17 and 18, 2027, with a large-scale medieval festival weekend.

The well-known beer village of Haacht will be transformed into a medieval fortress for the occasion. Cult.Clan Haacht is organizing an event that includes a camp with re-enactors, knights, ladies, troubadours, magicians, and storytellers. There will also be hands-on and observational activities for all ages.
Highlights of the weekend include a historical procession on Sunday, with an extensive program on the Market square, and a medieval banquet on Saturday. Local associations, artists, and businesses are also contributing to the festivities.
The organization is seeking volunteers to assist with various tasks, including marshals and escorts for the procession, on-site support, parking attendants, information desk staff, assistance with mobile toilets, waste management, receiving external participants during setup on Friday, assembling and distributing goodie bags. Volunteers will receive a personalized event T-shirt, a medieval mug, food and drinks during their shifts, and an after-drink on Sunday evening, along with volunteer insurance.
