During the first weekend, from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October, the 36-meter-high mast and the first four tension cables will be placed. The E40 will be closed in both directions from Friday, October 23 at 8:00 PM to Sunday, October 25 at 11:00 PM, between exit Haasrode (23) and the E40/E314 interchange. Non-local traffic between Brussels and Liège will be rerouted via the E314 and E313 or via the E411 and E42. Local traffic can follow the detour via complex 23 Haasrode – N3 – Ring Leuven (R23) – N264 – E314, exit 15 Leuven. The same detour applies in reverse. The E40 will be reopened by Sunday 11:00 PM with two lanes available towards Brussels and three towards Liège.
From Sunday evening, October 25, to Friday evening, October 30, the mast will be permanently secured in a special base. For these concrete works, the left lane towards Brussels will be occupied. The on-ramp from the E314 to the E40 towards Liège and the exit to the Heverlee-Zuid highway parking will also be shortened.
The second weekend, from Friday, October 30 to Monday, November 2, the final ten tension cables will be mounted, and the temporary pylon at the on-ramp to the E314 towards Liège will be removed. The E40 will again be closed in both directions from Friday, October 30 at 8:00 PM to Monday, November 2 at 2:00 AM, between exit Haasrode (23) and the E40/E314 interchange. The detours remain the same as in the first weekend. The E40 will be reopened in both directions by Monday morning at 2:00 AM, with three lanes available in each direction.
