A major fire, a flood, or a power outage? Many emergency situations can happen unexpectedly. That's why it's important that we are prepared together. Beersel tested the BE-Alert warning system on Thursday, October 1st. This system allows us to quickly notify citizens in case of an emergency via SMS, email, or phone.
During this test campaign, the focus was on alerting via email. We sent a test message to the 3130 registered residents. All sent emails successfully reached their destination. Citizens for whom the message could not be delivered by email received an SMS. This way, the municipality is better prepared to quickly notify residents of an emergency in their area. BE-Alert was also tested in many other municipalities today.
BE-Alert is a warning system that can notify citizens in case of an emergency. A mayor, governor, or the Minister of the Interior can send out a message to everyone affected by the emergency. This allows residents to receive necessary recommendations, such as closing windows and doors during a fire.
It is important to maintain your BE-Alert profile properly. You can add, change, or delete your personal information at any time. Furthermore, you can register up to five addresses, including your workplace and other important addresses like those of family members, in addition to your home address. You can log in at www.be-alert.be with your email address and the password you chose during registration. Check your details and click 'Confirm' at the bottom.
