The city of Aarschot has completed a full renovation of the passage from Demervallei parking to Diestsestraat, renaming it De Watergang and enhancing it with a new light art installation.

The newly named De Watergang signifies the complete transformation of the connection between Demervallei parking and Diestsestraat in Aarschot. The light artwork, designed by Yves Willems in collaboration with contractor Tri-Monta, is a notable example of street art.
The artwork features no less than 4,560 LED lights and required 14 liters of paint to cover the wall. The corten steel staircase, approximately 43 meters long, bridges a height difference of 7.5 meters between Roland Renskade and Diestsestraat. This technical feat is a source of pride for the city.
De Watergang is presented as a stunning piece of art and a gateway to the heart of the city.
