Together with Sint-Niklaas library, the Sint-Niklaas bookstores are joining forces to make November a true book month. During the various activities of Boektopia op Toer, they will alternately handle book sales and create opportunities for readers to purchase and get books signed. This way, they not only showcase authors and literature but also demonstrate how collaboration can strengthen the local book landscape.
Boektopia op Toer brings a varied program to Sint-Niklaas in November, focusing on fiction, non-fiction, philosophy, and international literature. Visitors can enjoy, among other things, a live show of the iconic radio program Interne Keuken, encounters with international authors such as Beatrix Gerstberger and Daisy Johnson, and engaging conversations with leading Flemish authors like Stefan Hertmans (recently nominated as a Nobel Prize candidate!) and Jean Paul Van Bendegem. Jaap Robben will also visit Sint-Niklaas to present his latest novel. The program brings together established names and new voices, offering visitors the chance to meet authors up close, ask questions, and get books signed.
The program includes:
Thursday, November 5: Interne Keuken Live with Koen Fillet and Sven Speybrouck, with guests Wendy Wauters, Kris Goffin, Gerrit Verhoeven, and musical guest Stoomboot (at SN!K stadsschouwburg)
Saturday, November 14: Annelies Moons in conversation with Beatrix Gerstberger about her bestseller De Kreeftenvrouwen (at the library)
Wednesday, November 18: Jean Paul Van Bendegem and Stefan Hertmans in conversation with Ruth Joos about their new books in the series Een kleine filosofie van grote emoties (at the library)
